Didn't know what to put as the title for this blog, so it is just chloe!
Been a while since i last wrote on here.
Feeling very mixed at the moment, lots of stuff going on at the moment.
Ben was ill last week, and signed off by the doctor, so Steph and I have been nursing him...
Now we are both ill! SO didnt do much work today, which was good, cos i meant i had time just to chill out and do nothing, mainly cos i had no energy to do anything! But i did manage to go to basket ball club this afternoon, which was good - kids very hyper but we can cope with that!
Missing the traditions of my home church this advent and christmas time, but it is good for me to see a different way of doing church, as i have always been brought up in the same church.
The plans for church.co.uk/salford church are getting me really excited, the church will not be based around the building, but around the people. that is what will hold it together, as a community rather than bricks!
Sorry this is really short today, and i little bit random, but i will write again soon when i am feeling slightly better!
Post soon!

Funny sort of a day!
Havent written on her for a while.
Been really busy, and life is a bit manic.
I managed to grab 5 minutes for myself today, and decided to write a meditation/poem.
Its coming up to a year since my best friend Erin died, its been a very mixed up year,
some really positive stuff has happened, but running throughout, has been the hurt of loosing someone so close, the pain of being alone, and the confusion of general life!
so i wrote a meditation, just to try and get down on words, a little bit of whats in my head.
I cant write the whole thing down, because i cant work it out yet!
Enjoy!!
A year has past.
A year has past,
But still I can’t work out where?
The moment dawns upon us,
That marks the day,
We said a sad farewell,
To a girl who change my life,
And maybe yours as well.
I can’t believe she’s not here,
It feels like only a second ago,
That I was whispering in her ear.
On that day,
My life – it changed,
Never to be the same,
Not without her here.
She told me to keep smiling,
To go on
And make her proud.
I hope she is smiling down on me,
And knows I miss her still.
Like my guardian angel,
Always there,
Even when I feel alone,
I know that she is still with me.
For Erin was a very special girl,
Living in the pink,
And
That moment dawns upon us,
That marks the day
We said a sad farewell,
To a girl who change my life,
And maybe yours as well.

Hiya!
I thought today was going to be aweful! Tuesday's are becoming my old Mondays! the days that seem to be sooo busy - so much to do but so little time to do it!
As Steph and I have been at Youthwork The Conference this last weekend, and then had a 5.30am start on Monday morning, we havent had much time to catch up on life really!
And this morning we had an assembly at 8.45am to get through! i was really worried about it, as we hadnt had much time to plan, but it was one of those things you just couldnt not do, so we thought we'd give it our best shot!
I text my Mum first thing this morning as told her i really didnt want to get out of bed, because i was worried about how much i needed to get done today, and she simply text back to say that i needed to remember to be FROG like! Meaning: Fully Reliant On God
Which really made me think, about how many times i over stress about things. when i could be fully reliant in knowing that God will be with me, and has it all planned out.
And in all truth, today was as manic as i thought it would be. And just because i handed it over to God, that didnt make it any easier - i still had my list of things to do and cope with. But i did it in the knowledge and belief that God did it with me, and i was not alone, that i could cope, and that i would infact make it to bed time before falling asleep!
I better go to bed now, as i have a fairly early start again at the academy in the morning!
Keep smiling and remember to be FROG like!
God Bless

A long but fab weekend!
Hey all,
Havent blogged for a couple of days so thought i'd do it now!
Just come back from a very long, but equally brilliant weekend. I have been at Youthwork The Conference, working on the stewarding team.
I had to get over alot of fears during the weekend, i am a fairly out going person, and have stewarded before, but never like this!
I had to record events (yes me, Chloe Purchase - doing tech stuff....) mesed it up a couple of times, but you should have seen me today....i was well good at it! haha
Loved clicking people in and out venues, but cant say i wanted to keep the high vis jackets! lol
Had really good conversations with many different people, so big leaders of churches and charities, but also the delegates. It felt such an honour to be able to serve God in this way, and to serve his people (and a massive power surge when we had to evacuate the building late at night!!)
It has become even more clear to me, that God wants me to do Youth and Childrens work, i dont know in what form yet, but i'm really excited to be exploring that in the near future.
Please can you pray for me, that i put my trust in God, and his plan for me life.
I tend to want to be in control alot of the time (ok, most of the time!) and i really need to learn how to hand things over to God, and let him take more control in my life.
Which will be hard, but i think as soon as i can grasp that, i will see my life massively change.
Whilst your praying! I havent really slept much this weekend, and worked long, and late shifts. Seem to have a manic week coming up, including a 5.30am start in the morning. So please pray that i keep positive, and get all the things done that are creeping their way on to my lists!
Sorry for any typo's in this! feel shattered and now heading to bed! but wanted to update people!
Take care,
Chlo x

Finally got a blogspot!
Hello people! Both near and far!
I have started my blog today, please feel free to check it every now and again to see what I've been up to, and if you notice that i havent written anything for a few week then send me a quick email reminding me!
I've been living in Salford, near Manchester for since early September. In all, it has been a really positive journey, during the early stages, as a team we have had our natural ups and downs, but are proving to be a very strong and solid team.
We are working in the local community, in schools, youths clubs, after school activities, and working with the Oasis church. (www.church.co.uk/salford)
The work we are doing in brilliantly varied, and we are never bored. I love the way we are always trying something new, and being stretched more and more to become better equiped youth and childrens workers.
I will try and keep this as up to date as possible, and feed into it as the exciting world develops around me!
For our first training week, we were asked to write a book review, or report on Nick Page - The Big Story. So i have included a copy of my book review at on this blog.
Please feel free to comment on it as you wish.
Thanks for taking time to read this.
God Bless

The Big Story – Thoughts
I really enjoyed reading the Big Story. I don’t read many books, and thought this might be a struggle to actually have a set time scale to have to read a book in, but I found it an enjoyable task, and it has restored my enjoyment in learning from reading books.
I have always read parts of the bible, in bible studies, church and private study, but never really seen the bible as a whole story. Like many people, I tend to know some familiar stories in the bible almost off by heart, from various services and children’s stories I have been brought up with. However, have never really seen the real meaning behind it, or what I find fascinating – the history behind them, seeing who is linked to who, and starting to see some sort of a pattern emerge from within it.
Whilst reading the Big Story, I enjoyed being able to challenge my family on some parts of the bible, to see if they also were aware of certain parts. Mainly small things like, did they know that the box Moses was sent down the Nile in, and the boat that Noah made, is the same word in Hebrew – Teba - meaning ‘the box shaped thing’. I guess information like that isn’t going to change the world in anyway, or change the way I think of the story, but it gave me a bit more background knowledge and understanding, that otherwise I wouldn’t have had.
One part of the book that really stood out for me, was how important names were, and I guess should be still. Names in the bible, they actually meant something, children were named because of the meaning, not just because it went nicely with the surname! Also I found, that when people’s heart and minds had been changed, from that of a non believer to a believer, their name was also changed, as if a sign that their old way of living was now over, and God had given them a new start, therefore a new name; they could now be who and what God wanted them to be. I found this a very powerful sign.
I also loved the fact that Nick Page, really drew out the fact of people being most touched and spiritually fed, when in their ‘wilderness place’. The place of wilderness, was when people had either literally gone into the desert and were in the wilderness without any normality around them, or when they had suffered loss, when they had lost absolutely everything, the people, the things and the homes they loved the most. When they thought they had nothing else; that was when God showed them and gave them everything they needed. So many people I have met and prayed with have felt like they had lost everything in life, and there was no way for them to turn. How great would it have been then, for me to have been able to show them these passages and sections in the bible, to give them hope, and show them that God doesn’t ever leave them alone, and will provide for all their needs?
I brought both books that were suggested, because at first I was worried that I would be the only one to have read this book, but I feel so blessed and refreshed after reading it. I found it a very light book, which was easy and enjoyable to read, but at the same time really challenged my way of thinking, and my knowledge of the bible.
